The Urhobo Community in Osun State, under the aegis of Urhobo Progress Union, Osun State Chapter, has congratulated the newly elected Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke on his victory in the recent governorship election.

In a letter delivered to the Governor-elect at his Ede residence, the Urhobo Community described the election as deserving and rewarding. The Union, led by its President,  Elder Isaac O. Emoghene, further said that Senator Ademola Adeleke has demonstrated that he’s a courageous man who can’t be waved off, as he never hid his ambition of becoming the governor of the state.

“After the 2018 election, where you were announced to have lost the election, many people thought you would not be able to put yourself together and go through another election. But rather you came back to the political scene with another strong and forceful determination, which eventually led you to victory. We, therefore,  join all citizens of Osun State and Nigerians to congratulate you on this singular feat. However, we want to remind you of all the promises made during your campaign. We know that the task ahead is onerous, but we are certain that with prayers and support of citizens of the State,  which include our Community, Urhobo people of Delta State, your government will achieve success,” the letter reads in part.

Recall that Senator Ademola Adeleke of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) defeated the incumbent Governor, Chief Oyetola of All Peoples Congress (APC) at the recent Osun State Governorship election emerging as the Governor-elect. His swearing-in takes place later in the year.

Other members of the Union who were at the presentation of the letter were the Vice Presidents of the Union, Alhaji Suleimon Akpovegho, Okotie John, and Oyouvwe Paul. Also present were Elder Ubini Sunday General Secretary; Engr. Moses Ubogu, treasurer;  Mr. Otoba Samuel, JP, spokesman; Amraifure Godspower, Patron;  Olorogun Efekohha, JP, and women leader,  Amraifure Josephine; among others.
