Oborifori Forum, a group of pan-Uwheru professionals and individuals dedicated to the development of the Uwheru Kingdom, has expressed gratitude to Olorogun (Barr.) Jaro Movudu Egbo, the Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Area, for his assessment visit to Uwheru Kingdom.
They also congratulated him on his recent election as Chairman of Ughelli North Local Council.
A prominent member of the Oborifori Forum, Mr Benjamin Igometi, who spoke to the media on behalf of the Forum, stated that the Council Chairman’s visit is commendable as it provides him with a proper understanding of the development challenges facing Uwheru Kingdom.
Mr Igometi, an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), extended the Forum’s congratulations and best wishes to the Chairman, expressing hope that his leadership will lead to meaningful progress for both the community and Ughelli North Local Government Area.
Hear Igometi:“We would also like to thank the Honourable Chairman for your recent outreach to Uwheru Community. Your visit, assessments, and commitments to improving local healthcare and education have shown that you’re listening to people’s concerns and responding to their needs. It has been encouraging to see you actively engaging with our community.
“Your offer of a scholarship to a promising pupil at Odja Primary School, along with your commitment to infrastructure improvements, speaks to the priority you place on education. By supporting our youth, you’re helping build a brighter future for Uwheru.”
The Forum expressed appreciation to Olorogun Jaro Egbo for his promise to upgrade the Primary Healthcare Centre by providing more beds, essential equipment, and other resources. They noted that these improvements will significantly impact the many people relying on these services.
“Your people-centred approach is inspiring and has brought a new sense of connection between local government and the community. We’re hopeful this direction will continue, and we look forward to working with you on projects that benefit Uwheru and Ughelli North as a whole, “ Oborifori noted.
However, the Forum also appealed for additional support for other schools and key areas in Uwheru Kingdom. Mr. Igometi highlighted pressing challenges within Uwheru’s schools, particularly the shortage of teachers and resources. He urged the Ughelli North Council Chairman to address these issues to ensure all children in the community have access to quality education
.“In addition, we hope you will consider other development needs across Uwheru. With your leadership, there is an opportunity to improve living standards and create a more supportive environment for all.”
Assuring their support for the Egbo administration, Mr Igometi said :“As always, we are ready to back initiatives that uplift our community. We reaffirm our support for your progressive and people-oriented vision for Uwheru Kingdom and the Ughelli North Local Government Area.
“Together, we can make meaningful progress that benefits everyone in Uwheru and beyond. Thank you for your leadership and commitment to grassroots development.”
Established October 25, 2018, Oborifori Forum has been involved in voluntary community development initiatives and interventions.
Some of these activities include the renovation of Udu Primary School, Uwheru; the provision of a mower to alleviate labour in cutting the school grasses; and a signpost. Others are relief materials for victims of flooding and the Ohoro Inferno; and the recent establishment of a Cooperative society for economic empowerment of the citizens, among others.
Membership includes indigent Uwheru people within and outside Nigeria.
