Men of the Nigeria Police Force, attached to Ofuoma Division, has arrested one Mr. Raphael Kotiko for allegedly defiling a minor in Ofuoma Community of Ughelli North local government area of Delta state.
It was gathered that the suspect lured the 10-year-old girl (name withheld) to an uncompleted building to engage in the illicit act.
Sources from the community disclosed that the bubble burst when a young boy (name withheld)of the same age as the girl demanded money from the suspect and victim. Their refusal led him to report the saga to the girl’s parents.
It is learned that after the report by the boy, the girl’s parents went in search of their daughter, who they found weeping, after her defilement by the suspect.
Narrating their finding, one of the parents of the victim, said “The suspect, Mr. Raphael, threatened to kill us when we accosted him over what he did to our daughter.
“We had to report the matter at Ofuoma police division, which led to his arrest and the police ordered us to go for a check-up at the hospital.
“We took her to Ughelli Central Hospital for medical attention and from the results, it was confirmed that our daughter was defiled. The results are with the police at Ofuoma.”
Also speaking, the victim, a primary four (4) pupil said, “I was coming back from church when Raphael called and told me that he wants to sleep with me and I said no to him, he pushed and forced himself on me.
“He told me that if I shout, he will kill me. This is the second time he has been doing it with me.”
When contacted the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Edafe Bright who confirmed the incident. “But I am yet to get the full details of the incident. I will update you when I am fully briefed.” He said.
