Haitian President Jovenel Moïse has been assassinated. He was killed in his home Wednesday by unidentified gunmen, injuring his wife, Martine Moise, who is presently hospitalised.
Haitian’s interim Prime Minister Claude Joseph, who made the announcement, said the President was assassinated at his home, allegedly by foreigners who spoke English and Spanish.
It is gathered that President Moïse was killed about 1 a.m. local time.
Announcing that he is in charge of the country, the Interim Prime Minister said the situation has been brought under control.
