Delta State Commissioner for Lands and Surveys, Hon Kate Onianwa, has assured the stipulated 90 days for the issuance of a Certificate of occupancy (C of O) by her ministry has not changed.
The commissioner stated this in her office during a radio interview tagged, ”You and your Land matter,” monitored on a radio station in Asaba.
Onianwa said that she works with a reliable, experienced, and capable team to deliver their mandate in line with Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s Stronger Delta mantra.
She urged the landowners to ensure that they process their C of O with genuine documents, saying that it would create room for faster processing.
The lands commissioner also advised that people should always make inquiries from the Deed Department of her ministry to avoid litigation and revocation before any acquisition of land.
The commissioner further advised landowners to sure that their land documents were kept in safe places, stressing that they were important for land development and future transactions.
Onianwa used the occasion to commend her staff for embracing discipline, adding that it had recorded a great impact on the speed of their work, explaining that it was also in line with the SMART Agenda mantra of the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa administration.
